Meet The Executive Director for Napa Sport SC Program Ernie Biera
I am honored to serve the soccer community in Napa and the Bay Area. I HAVE BEEN PART OF NAPA SPORT NOW FOR OVER 11 YEARS. My passion is to create teams and give our youth an opportunity to learn life skills through soccer. I began when my children started playing competitive soccer after a few years of recreational play in American Canyon. I found some players who wanted to play and formed a Napa Summer girls team later it became the first girls team at Vintage HS. I also became a referee and organized several adult teams while studying the game and becoming a licensed coach. I took part in many workshops and clinics to learn coaching skills. One of the most memorable was a week long clinic for high school coaches in Sonoma with the Ziemer brothers who are now the leaders of NorCal Premiere Soccer League. There are many lessons in the beautiful game of soccer and one is the presence of redefining what winning means to you. I hope you can answer that constant question of what does it mean to win and hope your definition is a vision that includes honoring your opponent, confidence in your skills and responsibility to yourself and the community.
